Fraud is a Violation

When someone steals from you, you may be pissed off or mad as heck but typically, you do not know the culprit. You may never know who is responsible.

Fraud is different because it is committed by someone you know.

Fraud feels personal.

The violation leaves you hurt, feeling betrayed, ashamed and disappointed. You may even feel like you're not a good business owner.

When occupational fraud is committed by someone you thought you could trust, you become a victim and the violation is real and painful in ways you never imagined.

Know the Signs

If you don't know the signs, you don't know what to look for to prevent employees from committing fraud in your business.

Education is your first line of defense so you can become more aware of the potential risks of fraud. Then, you can be proactive BEFORE the violation is committed.

Fraud can happen to you. Prevention is considerably easier than trying to find the cure AFTER the fraud has been committed. Your education can save you thousands of
dollars and potentially save your business.

Certified Fraud Examiner

"I'm committed to equipping business owners to start, run, and grow their businesses THE RIGHT WAY."

I'm Bernadette L. Harris...

I've helped hundreds of business owners protect their businesses. As an accountant, I've educated them on how to improve their operational processes and build their business more efficiently.

Newsflash: Fraud wasn't taught as part of my college curriculum when I earned my bachelor's degree. But when a client became a victim of fraud, I decided to learn everything I could to ease or avoid the pain for other business owners.

What I discovered was shocking! The statistics for small and mid-sized business owners victimized by fraud were staggering.

I knew I wanted to be able to educate business owners about the warning signs and show them how to implement preventative measures.

As a Certified Fraud Examiner and Forensic Accountant, I'm trained to:

  • Review your accounting records; and
  • Tell you how much money you're missing; and
  • Identify who stole the money; and
  • Reveal the way it was stolen; and
  • Offer proof that no one else could've committed the fraud; and
  • Assess your risk for fraud; and
  • Show you how to implement protective measures.

I'll also serve as your:

  • Valuable Resource; and
  • Go-to fraud prevention professional: and
  • Highly educated forensic accountant; and
  • Passionate supporter.

And, that's just for starters!

Using my investigative skills, I'm able to "put the pieces of the puzzle" together and communicate my findings so they're easy to understand and resolve.

My job is to expose the violation, assess the risks for future fraud and help you implement the necessary controls to protect your business.

In my book you:

  • Discover the reality of fraud. You'll be surprised to know who the real victims of fraud are, and more importantly, that small businesses are not exempt from fraud.
  • Hear the common schemes of fraudsters, behavior types, what works and what doesn't work, to prevent fraud from happening in your business.
  • Understand the profile of an employee who commits fraud. (HINT: There are some commonalities that will shock you and disclose why betrayal is at the very heart of all fraud committed.)
  • Eight proven solutions that work (and why trust isn't the prevention or the cure) because fraud happens when you aren't paying attention and is usually committed by the person you least expect. You CAN trust when you have appropriate controls in place.
  • How I can put my education, expertise and passion to help you avoid being a victim of fraud. (Yes, I'm passionate about fraud... I love those investigative shows like CSI and Law and Order: SVU (Special Victims Unit))
  • And Much, Much More...

It's time for you to stop being naive and blindly
trusting. Armed with the right information, you can employ the necessary measures to prevent fraud
in your business today!

The losses caused by occupational fraud are real and severe!
